There is a small river that runs through some acres at the back of our property. If you follow it north youll find that it connects to the red river. The water here is clean. The fishing is good. In summer we irrigate the crops by siphoning water from the river. Its helped us immensely.
Its funny but we tend to always forget something that is always there. Its sad to say but we always seem to overlook or take for granted whats always there.
Isnt that right Reno? You are always around in one way or another. Maybe we dont see you but we know you're there. Watching on TV, reading things on the internet about the fed. But its not enough. Its not enough to be with us here and there, we need you and everyone to be here body, mind and soul. And thats why I smiled when I saw that you had returned. You may not be the river that runs through SFT and gives it life. But you are part of the river, a stream or a creek, but still some lifes blood. And that is all that matters.
Its already summer. We have been hitting over 100 degrees most days. And because its so hot I have been getting up super early to do my work around the ranch. Because most days by 10am its too hot to do any work without getting some serious damage set in. So most days I am up by 5am. Hah I feel like I am in the army, that old slogan that we do more before 8am than most people do all day. Yup thats me. I think I would of made a good soldier.
Living out here alone on the ranch we are secluded. It sometimes gets lonely and its way too quiet. But thats the life I have. And thats alright by me.
Anyway sometimes I like to sit on the riverbank and just take it all in, there isnt much around the river and its nice, the water is cool early in the day and late in the day. And I feel closer to nature here, like I am a part of it and not just taking from it. Does that make any sense to you Reno. Being part of something and not just taking what you want and when you want? I think in that sense we're a lot a like.
I will save the trash talk for another day. Today I am happy just be here. And life aint that bad on days when you appreciate it for exactly what it is.
I cant complain I guess. Anyway thats it for now.
