The world is a dangerous place. You can walking home from the store or a park and suddenly find yourself in a dangerous situation. You can get kidnapped, you can get hit by a car. You can find yourself in situations you never thought imaginable.
And yet most of us will spend our lives with hardly anything happening. We will live ordinary lives and we will never know what might have been. And then there are others who live life always knowing what has been.
Each time I died I managed to find myself in Jeville. A way station of sorts for lost souls, for trapped souls, for the ones who were damned and still didnt know it. Its easy to get there, not so easy to leave. And living there is even harder to accomplish.
There are some people who accept their fate. They dont cry or whine about their situation. They work hard to make some sort of life there. Jeville is a wasteland, mostly moist sand, large rocks, nothing really grows here, some have gotten lucky and managed to grow a little beets and onions, some even grew cucumbers. But for the most part its a hard life, with very little to eat. Some have gone hunting in search of the demons. Things that live in mist and darkness. But the few who have managed to kill those beasts quickly saw that their decaying meat was not edible. And those few who tried got severely sick or died. You see those monsters in the darkness lived off us, you cant eat a canibal and think you'll be ok.
For most we lived off roots and herbs and leaves, weak soups and teas. Once in a while we'd kill a rat and make a stew out of it. The whole village would put something in and itd be a gathering. Some might think thats disgusting but rat meat where there is no meat is like the greatest thing.
Now why am I talking about this? Its simple. Some people take things too lightly. They take things for granted. Robert do you know what I am saying? You take having a good meal as something expected or demanded. That you are owed food, that you are owed money, that you deserve a good home a good life and that you dont have to do anything than be you. We feel entitled to something. Robert you feel like you have done enough to win the IC title. And now you will keep it because you are one of the best here. And you are owed it. But the reality is you are owed nothing. You have won the title and beaten the unbeatable, does it end there? No it doesnt. Now the real work starts.
You have the title, now work harder to keep it? Cause any long time guy in SFT will say, its easy to win a title, its extremely hard to keep it. And with me before you, I will work hard on making sure you deserve it, and if you arent worthy you wont keep it, not for long.
