We see Jack sitting in the shade of his home. Its been a long morning and its getting up in the 90s already.
Jack says “Its gonna be a hot day. Really hot. And on hot days like today its wise to respect the sun. You stay out there too long and it starts to burn you not just from the outside but from the inside. Soon you are drinking too much cold water and it doesnt sit well, you start to shake or you throw up. Best to just get some rest in the shade and let your body get accustomed. Well as best that it can, sometimes you cant get used to 100 degree weather.
Jack puts on his Stetson hat and takes a quick glimpse at the sun.
“You gotta wonder how the people were able to get any sleep on days like today. Back before there was air conditioning or electricity. I just cant imagine trying to get sleep when theres no ac, no fan and its 90 degrees, mosquitos attacking cause windows are open. I just cant imagine life back then or maybe I dont want to. But life must have been hard. There was a lot more problems back then, people, no law, wildlife, everything was a danger. You had to be tough thats for sure.”
Speaking of tough, now that brings me to Travis Deacon Hall. Our new world champion. Let me congratulat you sir. You finally won that elusive title. But winning it was the easy part. Now comes the hard part. Keeping it. Anyone will tell you that winning a title is tough, but the hard part, the really hard part if keeping said title. As world champion you have this giant bullseye on your back and everyone is gunning for you. Everyone wants what you have, yours truly included. And I intend to make the best of my shot. You gave me the IC title because you wanted to focus on the world title. Well now you have it, what else are you going to sacrifice to keep it? Your health? Your mind? Your marriage? It’ll cost you everything and then some. Trust me on that. And I hope you are prepared to pay the price. And the price will be very high, trust me when I say that. And I hope you are ready to pay said price?
Jack gets up and dusts himself off.
“Time to get back to work.”
He walks into the sun.
“Travis I wish you the best of luck on Titans. Cause I am the sun, and you are the man caught in the heat. Can you withstand whats coming? We shall see wont we?”
He walks off
