The year is 1789 BC. My name was Jeruth. And I was living in Mesopotamia. In the area that is now known as Jordan. My father was named Irenio. And we were fisherman. We never left too far from port, it was a dangerous time to be a fisherman. Too many unknown things in the water and dangerous people above the water. So we fished off shore and for the most part we did well. We kept a roof over ourselves and we never went hungry. What more could you ask for?
One day we received a large order from a well to do gentry. He wanted 90 large fish for a banquet. And he gave us 2 days to do. My father had confidence we could complete the order in time. I on the other hand was a bit hesitant. We had never had to catch so many fish, and small fish would not do. So even with the nets I used, most that I would catch would be crabs, shrimp and small fish, we had to use fishing lines to catch larger fish and that took time and patience.
My father said not to worry, our gods would provide. And so I went along. After all he was older, he was my father and he had the experience. But the day we began, it started to rain, very badly, we built a make shift roof and we continued fishing. At times the chops from the rain and the waves made it hard to tell when we were getting bites, and so it was a slow go.
But there we were we fished till after midnight and we were back before dawn. We completed the order with little time to spare. But it got done, and we were paid well for our order. It was a satifying feeling, one that I would not forget. Hard work pays off, especially when you know you were part of it all.
Now all these thousands of years later I am still referring back to that lesson. And it seems to be a lesson most never learned. And now I have to go up against Hera and try to teach her a life lesson. Nothing comes easy, nothing comes free. If you want to make a place great you need to work on it, make it great, not just show up when its convenient for you. Its easy to join a successful kingdom. And server loyally. Its quite another thing to serve under a smaller kingdom and help it flourish. You Hera are afraid of hard work, or at least you are afraid of putting in the time and actually trying to make something. AT times I think you are lazy. Extemely lazy. But honestly you arent around much to be called that, I would call you more like an absentee father or mother figure. You want to help but you know what they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
If you want to be in SFT and help it, then help it. Stop thinking about yourself and do something that benefits everyone. But then again maybe its just your nature to be the way you are? Maybe you cant help it? Whatever the case is with you, you disappoint, especially when it matters the most.
That is all I have to say for today.
