Beginning.
Our adventure begins in total darkness. That is where our lord and master Apokalypse feels most at peace. He has been sitting in silence for over a week. No sustenance. No communication. Just a man made god and his championship. As it is, it will forever be. This is a champion whose reign knows no limits. If the time came for him to defend in ICW or even on the moon… he would be ready. He was ready for Jamo… and made quick work of that poor soul. Next up he must take on a woman named Candace.
He once knew a Candace. Many moons ago. She was his first girlfriend as a teenager. She was the love of his life. He thought they would be together forever. He was stupid. He was wrong. She cheated on him who knows how many times. The one he found out about was enough to call it quits. He was broken. He was lost. He was destroyed. That is when he became stronger. That is when he became Apokalypse. She destroyed what humanity he had been born with. That Candace created Apokalypse.
This Candace who appears sporadically in Strike Fantasy Towers is a different Candace. She came in for the Lethal Lottery Tournament and failed to win it, just like Apokalypse. Somehow it was decided that she was the number one contender for the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship of the World. Do wins and losses truly mean nothing around here? Jamo had a shot at the the gold for no reason and he failed to dethrone the man, the myth, the legend, the monster, the demon, the god, the destroyer, the conquerer, the magnificent, the beautiful, the courageous… Apokalypse.
What has Candace done to stand face-to-face with such an impressive being as Apokalypse? Don't search too hard for the right answer. The only answer is simple: nothing. She is being fed to Apokalypse by the powers that be to further build up his dominant and devastating reign as champion. She has already proven to be a lost cause in tag team competiton. Does anyone think she will fair differently in singles competiton? Apokalypse is prepared to break her spirit like the other Candace broke his own. He is prepared to destroy her mercilessly and then rebuild her piece by piece.
Did she become a contender based on anything that happened in ICW? Apokalypse came here after SFT ravaged ICW and buried what little talent they had left. Could this title shot be a contractual obligation? She certainly didn't earn the right to stand up to Apokalypse. Or does she challenge Apokalypse because SFT hands out participation awards on a weekly basis? That's more likely. The same happened with Jamo. The same will happen with whatever schmuck they send after the throne next. Candace will do no better than Jamo or Louis Cypher, for that matter.
Candace should be happy with her place in the world. She continually loses and is handed opportunities. The cycle continues. While she has lost before, she has never lost to an unstoppable machine like Apokalypse. He is still working hard every day to earn the right to be called champion. Does anyone remember the fight he put up when he was handed the title because Jay Impact was not fit to defend it like a man? He caused quite a ruckus for several week, claiming it was an embarrassment to be handed the title and that he would earn it by defeating Louis Cypher.
And then it happened. Apokalypse took on arguably the best wrestler in Strike Fantasy Towers… and he won. He earned the right to be called Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion of the World. He had steamrolled half of the roster before being handed the title, so it's not like he didn't work hard for his opportunity. Candace, on the other hand, put in little effort and continually lost… and yet… she became… number one contender… somehow? Apokalypse was confused by this. Confusion angers Apokalypse. He likes knowing everything… and right now… because the bottom of the barrel has been chosen to challenge him… he just doesn't understand anything anymore.
Apokalypse has created a dark legacy this year by doing unspeakably terrible things to the stupid idiots SFT has put in his path. Every one of them failed to put a chink in his armor… except for Rumpke. Candace is most certainly no Rumpke. She will fall into a pit of despair following her inevitable loss to the one true ruler of SFT… the one called Apokalypse. Candace is only known for being moderately decent in ICW… which was viewed by no more than ten people on a weekly basis. Apokalypse is known for centuries upon centuries by billions of people. When you compare the two… there is no comparison.
Candace is Ann Darrow.
Apokalypse is King Kong.
Candace is Nichole Brown.
Apokalypse is OJ Simpson.
Candace is Judith Myers.
Apokalypse is Michael Myers.
Candace is Chrissie Watkins.
Apokalypse is Jaws.
Candace is the radio star.
Apokalypse is video.
Candace is Sharon Tate.
Apokalypse is Charles Manson.
Candace is The Titanic.
Apokalypse is the iceberg.
Candace is Kurt Cobain.
Apokalypse is Courtney Love.
Candace is 2020.
Apokalypse is COVID-19.
It's all rather simple, yet it must be examined and explained in excruciating detail for the simpletons of Strike Fantasy Towers. Apokalypse is your king and you must obey him. While ruthless, he is also fair. You are all trash and shall be treated as such. Candace is among you and she represents you next week at Tuesday Night Titans. Like the lot of you, she does not deserve to stand before Apokalypse and call herself a challenger. Unfortunately for Apokalypse… there is nobody worthy on this roster except for Rumpke. If he were to challenge for this immaculate championship, then the reign of terror orchestrated by Apokalypse might come to an end next week.
For now… Apokalypse is safe. He does not fear the miniscule challenge from the puny mortal called Candace. He has had the eyes of millions on him and he did not crack under the pressure. They all paid their slave wages just to see him with their own eyes. Now that he is champion of champions, he is holding the legacy of this company in his mighty hands and he will further cement his own legacy with that championship. Who is Candace to challenge this immortal beast? She did not choose to be his next victim but it is her destiny to fall to his iron will.
Apokalypse won't say what Candace has heard a million times. He will not talk down to her for being a woman in a man's world. While it is true, it is below his standards of mind games. Her greatest weakness in this bout is that she is in no way prepared to take on such a threatening competitor. He does not have to do any homework on her to know she's not prepared mentally, physically, emotionally or spiritually for the natural disaster coming her way next Tuesday. Candace is the definition of underdog here… but this won't be an inspiring story about how the underdog overcomes all odds to claim ultimate glory.
Any attempt at fighting back from Candace will come off as a pathetic plea for attention. Apokalypse has destroyed countless foes like her before. Not just here in SFT.. but all over the world… for many years. He doesn't bring up specifics like Candace does about… OCW, was it? IPW? No! It was ICW! Wow, how embarrassing, huh? That place that SFT wiped off of the edge of the planet… and she just can't leave the memories alone. Apokalypse conceals his true identity from the world because it's not important to the story unfolding. He is a brutal warrior trained in the ways of uis ancestors who waged wars over a millenia ago. He will attack Candace with his physical prowess and brutality, not with whatever feelgood Hallmark routine Candace will bring to the table.
Her redemption story for her countless losses is uninspiring to the great Apokalypse. He does not care how many times she has fallen off the horse. Apokalypse is like the thoroughbred that crippled Christopher Reeve. Once you encounter him at his true power… you don't go home in the same condition as when you arrived. Apokalypse was trained over hot coals to do what he does. He was beaten and bruised by epic goliaths of history. He came out a better man because of it. How will Candace to any damage to this unmovable force?
She won't.
Obviously.
Apokalypse has spent a lifetime honing his craft… and nobody has taken him out in a way that truly matters. Candace has never experienced pain like Apokalypse has. She knows not of true hardship and loss. She has no ability to comprehend the trials he had been through. Candace means nothing to Apokalypse. On the scale of misery he has endured, anything Candace is mortally capable of at Titans will come off as a harmless tickle. She will be a crack in the road on his journey to accomplishing his true purpose here in SFT. She is not uniquely capable as a fighter and her mediocrity will not garner any favors with Fate in deciding who will walk out of Titans as champion.
All this time you assumed that Apokalypse decided his many wins or his few losses. Fate is the ultimate decider, and it is usually on his side. This bout with Candace will be no different. He walks in champion. He walks out champion. Simple is as simple does. Candace should be able to understand this, but she's probably still hung up on something that happened in Nowheresville ICW. Apokalypse doesn't care about ICW. It is inconsequential to where he is at in life right now. And yet… those stupid letters keep popping up. SFT buried ICW before Apokalypse came here. Had he been part of the war… it would have been over before it even had a chance to begin.
You may be wondering why Apokalypse is not providing you with all of this information personally. Quite frankly your peasant ears are not strong enough for the magnititude carried by his voice. Instead you must all suffer through this narration, as you watch a man whose mind is so fractured that he has been locked up at Rolling Hills Asylum in East Bethany, New York for the better part of two weeks. His room is now illuminated and we now see from the vantage point of a security monitor.
On the safe side is a team of doctors, as well as the wife of our unhinged maniac champion. He is explaining the likelihood of the release in time for Tuesday Night Titans. Since he is being held of his own volition, he is free to go at any point. The head doctor on his case does not recommend his release because of the potential danger that Candace faces by being gifted an unearned match against the mighty Apokalypse but there legally is not much that can be done to put this title match on hold.
His wife is now crying, worried about the wellbeing of Candace and everyone else who stands in the line of fire from this volcanically powerful man among mice. She pleads to the doctor to think about Candace's family, friends, fans… because they will soon witness her early and abrupt retirement match at Titans at an undisclosed location in New Orleans. Who knew that this match would end up being career versus title? Well… Apokalypse… obviously.
Only he knows what's inside his mind. All of the rigorous tests these last few weeks have proven that his mind is a steel trap. No amount of testing has made him even budge even the slightest bit. Nothing short of a lobotomy has shown any result. How would it be possible for Candace to do any damage to this genetically superior fighting machine? You should have fully absorbed the truth by now that our champion will still be reigning once Candace is disposed of.
And then he will rest.
Apokalypse is tired of these games. He came here to mess around and hurt people… but it grew old quickly. The best verbal war of words the doofy dozen of SFT can bring to the table is making jokes about his name… or talking about food for some reason. At least Candace is putting forth the effort that Jamo and Louis Cypher failed to do. If she leaves New Orleans with the gold… it will be because he willed her reign into existence. She would then be champion because he allowed it. As hollow as his reign began, it would still pale in comparison to the abysmal start she would have.
That is… IF she becomes champion. The odds are still greatly in favor of the champion… so there isn't much use in speculating about what a Candace reign would look like. The list of legitimate contenders ends before it ever has a chance to flourish. Vast majority of this roster is not suited to lace the boots of Apokalypse, let alone carry the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship of the World. Rumpke could… if he wanted to. Candace could… if Apokalypse wants it to happen.
Or Lucas Balkan.
Or The Accountant.
Or Eli Martin.
Or… nope. That's all, folks.
We are still two days removed from Titans… somewhere in New Orleans… because we're all sworn to secrecy about where the events take place… including the fans… for some reason. A bunch of stuff will happen… maybe the finals of the Lethal Lottery Tournament? Wait. Is this show itself called Lethal Lottery Round 3? This is such a weird way to advertise a show. Is it even on television? Are fans even really in attencance? This place is more bizarre than the inner workings of the mind of the almighty conquerer Apokalypse.
And he's in an asylum right now.
Ugh.
Eventually this nightmare will be over and he will be able to reveal his true identity. Until then… he will continue breaking the spirits of his enemies… including the upcoming adversary… Cadence? Candy? Connie? Cruella? Oh! It's Candice! Wait. No? Candace. With an a instead of an i. See how juvenile it is to pick apart someone's name? That's her style… and it may have worked over in ICW with… you know… whoever was there… but it does nothing to weaken the maniacal madman known as Apokalypse.
The only thing that will truly defeat Apokalypse is complacency. To be honest… it is already winning the battle. He is tired of trash like Jamo coming for him. Frankly… he has been feeling complacent since this senseless tournament began. Wrestling every other Tuesday has really made him miss the days of consistent competiton. But… here he is… hanging out in an asylum until it's time to travel to New Orleans.
Nobody knows what lies ahead. All we know is that Apokalypse will be ruler until he decides to give up the crown. Then he will finally rest. He has worked so hard this year to bring this company notoriety. All you all care about is cheetos and music videos. Nobody here cares about pro wrestling anymore. Guess he will have to speed up the plan to destroy the place you call home. Useless is any resistance to the gracious monster Apokalypse. Some one said all good things must come to an end. That's where Apokalypse comes in.
Are you following?
Ending.
