There used to be an old gas station near my home where I grew up. It was called Tommys. Now at Tommys. It was a small place, it was really a bait shop. They sold live worms and shrimp depending where you wanted to fish salt water or fresh water, they had you covered, they also sold stuff for your fishing poles and what not. They sold beer sodas chips things like that, they had a pump for gas but no one bought gas there on account of how expensive it was, but it would do in a pinch. Now me growing up. My family didn't have much money, keeping 3 kids fed and clothed was hard for them, they bought us clothes from the 5 and dime or from goodwill. Never really had shoes to speak of till we got to secondary. Life wasn't what you might call easy. But that was our lives.
Now back to the story of Tommys. Now every Friday and Saturday the owner would drag out a large bbq pit and start cooking hamburgers out there, and they tasted great, sold them for a buck fifty each and hed sell from 11am to 3pm but most days he’d sell out by 2pm. Id go by on either day buy two of them and an ice tea. One day I asked the old man if his name was Tommy since I knew him to be the owner. He said no. Tommy had been his son, he died when he was a lil one. I nodded, not really feeling any empathy, as you know I a cold person. I don't care much, but I didn't push it, I didn't ask anything more than that. I nodded told him to have a good day and left. I went there once a week for 15 years and ate those burgers so did a lot of people.
After I left home made my way into the world and became the man I am today. I went back home. Must of been 10 yeas since Id been back home. Tidy up my parents place, take care of business you know the drill. I stopped by Tommy’s and things had changed, real gas pumps out there, now had a bathroom inside, it looked clean, they no longer sold live bait. It was different, it was generic, it wasn't Tommy’s. I asked the young lady where the old man who owned the place was. She said she didn't know, she’d only been working there a year. But she thought she heard he had just up and sold the place to this chain. I asked if they still sold burgers on the weekends. She pointed to some burnt burritos under a lamp and said that was the only edible food in this place and it wasn't very edible either.
I sighed, I knew nothing would stay the same. But I was really hoping to have gotten one last burger out of Tommys. Anyway I guess I have been going round and round long enough. My point is this, things change, people come and go. I changed. I wasn't always Louis Cypher. I know my name is as gimmicky as they come. I know this. I understand this. I am playing a character, but not too far off from who I really am. I dress in these fancy suits of mine, I sound condescending because I am. I hate everyone, because I do really hate everyone. But underneath it all I am a real person. Not a good person to be honest but I am a real person. Flaws and all. I concede that I am a shallow and all around despicable person. But at least I am honest about it.
What about you Jamo. I was warned to expect a new and highly evolved Jamo. One that would be more down to earth. More real. And yet here we are. And you are still as fake as ever. All your nicknames, Broken Jamo, Fiend Jamo, Jelly Donut Jamo, its all been done before. You keep looking at your TV for inspiration and you shouldn't. Look deep within you. Stop talking as if you are Raven and start talking like the man underneath Jamo. The real you. Or is there even a real you? Maybe all you are is just a walking talking gimmick after gimmick? Come on dude there has to be more to you, or have I really come up against the only person on this planet more shallow than me? Hahahaha
I am done. I got a weekend to try to hopefully enjoy.
