When I was a kid I didnt have many friends. I had maybe one, at school though. Where we lived all the grades were in one class, it was like a 70 mile radius no towns no nothing, too far to go to reg school so the ranchers and farmers paid a teacher to teach all the children in the area, not that there were many kids to begin with a handful of pre-k children 7 or so kids in the 1st through 4th grade, a few junior high,3 high school students and that was it. We learned in an old coop. The building had been converted for us. We went to the school for 5 hours each day, a snack no lunch and that was it for us. We were zoomed through the school year condensed in 6 months. So I never really went to an actual school school. No lunch periods sitting across from friends, no recess, no dances, no proms, nothing.
So as you can tell we were a little behind in everything. When the whole world was playing XBOX and Playstation we were playing with regular Nintendos and Cube. So we were definitely behind the times. But everyone knows what pogs are, but you are right we never played with them. We would see them on tv and talked about on cartoons and some shows. Once in a while when we would go to town we’d see them in hobby lobbys or comic book stores. The point of all this was that, in some parts of the world,VCRs are still being used and movies still created for those. Not all of us are as advanced as some of you.
Hell each time I see someone in the city on a skateboard all I can think about Lords of Dogtown, and so each time I see a skateboarder I think he or she is a throwback from the 70s,who still skateboards? Come on now, put away the toys, get a job and buy a car like everyone else in the world. But then again who am I to judge? I am a throwback myself, riding horses, fishing, who still fishes but old people and cowboys like me? I still hunt, and we eat what we take.
So in a sense I might as well be the marlboro man from the 70s and 80s. But thats ok. Sometimes the past can be better. Isnt that right apokalypse? I mean you are a bit of a throwback yourself. But the real throwback is SFT. Its been around more than two decades. That has got to be some sort of record dont you think? But we cant pick and choose what we love and I love this place. It is dear to my heart. And it is special to me. And Apokalypse, you should know, I always protect what I love. Be it my dear momma or my little lake. You should really understand that and understand me.
As for the rest, I never played laser tag, I just saw it on some Disney show a while back. Looks like fun, but maybe paintballing would be better? Dunno, do people stll do that too? Seems everything we do and say is a throwback. But thats ok, fun is fun.
That is all I have to say.
