The scene fades in to Apokalypse seated at a picnic table, alone in a park because it is off limits to the general public. Apokalypse does not feel like he is the general public… so here he is… alone…
“Nothing is known of my past accomplishments… and I know that will eat away at some people here in SFT. They’re going to want to know where I’ve been and what I’ve done… so they have ammo to use against me. None of my past matters. I’ve held a bunch of belt in a bunch of places. The only belts that should matter to any of you are the three here in SFT. Those… I have held a grand total of… drum roll please…”
He drum rolls his hands on the table.
“ZERO TIMES! Jack Jones, on the other hand, is a former World and Intercontinental Champion. What an impressive feat that he was World Champion for four months last year… and then was Intercontinental Champion by the end of the year. That’s pretty cool considering he is only 22 years old. By the time I was 22… I was nowhere near a World Title… or even an Intercontinental Title. I had a few Television Titles… one Internet Title… and a hoard of Tag Team Titles with my partner…”
He stops, then shakes his finger at the camera.
“No no no. You almost got me to divulge too much information about my past. My tag team partner doesn’t matter because you’ve never heard of him. The people I have beaten don’t matter because… you guessed it… you’ve never heard of him. What difference would it make if I came out and told you all about the feud I had with whatshisname back in 2009? All that matters at this present moment is Titans 81, being broadcast live to the world from Denver, Colorado.”
“Is the show live? What day does it even take place? What building will I have to arrive to on whatever day the show is? There are so many things I don’t yet know about SFT… but I guess the answers will come in due time. Maybe Jack Jones can help provide some answers. He seems to have been here for a couple years, and he wrestles in between growing his own crops and raising his own livestock. It’s good of him to take care of his mama. I wish I could have done the same… but she wasn’t---”
He slams his fist on the table.
“No no no! You almost got me again, SFT! I’m not talking about my mama… and I shouldn’t even be talking about Jack’s mama. She has nothing to do with the war I am going to wage on her dear son and the rest of his friends here in SFT. She is an innocent bystander and I would advise that she doesn’t even tune in to Titans 81… if she even has a television, that is. It is in her best interest that she doesn’t watch what I do to her dear boy.”
“Speaking of her dear boy… Jack… young man… make sure you have your affairs in order before heading to Denver to meet your doom. Leave no stones unturned. Leave no email unanswered. Get all of your ducks in a row… as well as the other animals under your care. What’s coming is going to be devastating to the functionality of your way of life.”
He is silent for a few moments before opening up his picnic basket.
“There’s no park ranger in sight to disrupt my sandwich time. Life is good.”
The scene fades out to nothing.
“Selfishness alone is sufficient to bring Apokalypse upon a nation.”
