I finally finished mowing the lawn. It may not sound like an accomplishment to you, but to me....it's a milestone. Considering I started the lawn 2 months ago.
No...I don't have a big lawn. I don't have countless plants, bushes, or trees. It's just a small lot of land. Maybe a day's worth of mowing. So why did it take me 2 months you ask?
Well, let me backtrack to when the project/chore began.
My girl owns....(we own) an electric lawn mower. I'm not sure if your familiar with them. You simply plug them into the electrical outlet with a long extension cord and VOILA....your ready to go. No oil, no gas and no pulling a cord to try and create combustion. Just simply press a button and it's on. No pollution. No fossil fuels.
So anyway, I began on the front side of the house with the mowing.
It was evening and therefore the front house yard was in the shade. As it always is after 5pm. The position of the house dictates mowing in the backyard early in the morning and opposite in the evening.
Anyway, i started the front and got done with it before dusk. I placed the electrical cord inside the house and put the lawnmower where it's always stationed at between uses.
The next few days brought on crappy weather. And so my lawnmowing days were postponed.
6 days passed and finally a great day emerged out of nowhere. So on with the mowing I thought. I grabbed the extension cord and proceeded outside.
And lo and behold....the lawnmower was not there. We had been robbed.
Immediately my demeanor becomes quite agitated. Like Banner to Hulk. Instantly.
I went through the usual behavior when those situations in our lives occur. You know, I look around the house hoping the lawnmower was moved. Or maybe I thought I had placed it here but actually place it there.
Well....to cut to the chase...we were robbed.
I'm sitting on my half mowed lawn feeling hate and rage at humanity for the loss of a lawnmower. Instead of seeing it as a blessing...you know...."well, I can't cut the lawn if I don't have a mower !" Ergo...no labor out of me.
But on the other hand, my lawn is getting out of control...well, half of it anyway.
Month and a half later we finally give in to trusty Amazon and order a new electric lawnmower. And as always with Amazon prime...2 days later...its on my porch. And the very next day I resumed my chore. I cut the grass. All of it. Finally...
2 months later...
Emerson, Jay...when i start something....i finish it. No matter how long it takes me. I start this match as the IC champion...but next time we meet in the ring...I will be THE CHAMP!!!
Emerson...you and Jay are just some school zone speed bumps. You two are insignificant. You are Reapers next victims of despair.
My victory is imminent.
