The scene is an old abandoned baseball field in the outskirts of San Antonio.
When I was a kid I used to come out here with my friend, it wasn't this bad back then. We’d play soccer, football, Frisbee, and of course baseball. I was never very good at baseball. I was fat, I was slow, I wasn't very strong to begin with. But there was just something about playing the game that I liked. I didn't really like watching baseball on TV, I found it boring, even to this day. I might watch the world series but that would be about it.
Anyway I would always fear getting hit by ball, we were 10 years old playing with hardballs and steel baseball bats. Things always happened, someone would get hit by a pitcher, by a bat, by a line drive or a fly ball, someone would slide into a plate and break an arm or leg. Lots more injuries in baseball than one would expect hahaha.
Anyway fear has always been a big thing with me. And that fear kept coming into me more and more as I got older. I was always afraid of diving from a board at the public pools. Maybe cause the first time I did I almost drowned. First month I drove I had a wreck. First time I tried to cook I burned down half the kitchen. I am either the clumsiest person ever, or I am the most unluckiest person ever. Either way its not good being me.
Sometimes I feel if it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck at all. Some people say we make our own luck. Which I do not buy for one second. They have never lived a day in my life for them to say such a stupid thing.
But like baseball I need to get back in the batters box and try again. Swing again and keep swinging till I hit that home run. On this next Titans I get another shot at the SFT World Title. And I go up against a familiar opponent, Twilight. What can I say about Twilight he has been holding on to that world title for quite some time. I like that. I like that when they tell him to fight he fights. And most times he wins. But I know I can beat him. I have done it before. I just gotta stand in that box and hold on and when the right pitch is coming my way, hit it out of the park and get that home run. Get that world title back and make it mine again.
I know I can do it. I know. Twilight knows it, the ref in the ring knows it, the fans in the arena and the fans at home know it. I just gotta visualize it and go for it and just do it. I know all this sounds really corny. But I have it in me to be our world champion again and I think this time I am a lot more ready than I have been before. I ain't no superman but I can be world champion at least for a while.
That is all I have for today.
