Today I went to burger king for lunch. And I had a coupon buy one whopper get one free. I was so ecstatic. I couldn't wait to get in my car and inhale both of them. And as I am unwrapping the first burger I see a lady, she was messed up. She looked handicap, one arm looked smaller than the other, she had a cardboard sign that said please help.
My heart sank and my appetite disappeared. When Shadow was alive I had the pleasure of witnessing his good will. If he ever saw someone who really needed help, he would open his wallet and give, or drive to a restaurant and get something by the drive thru window and give that person something to eat and drink. Every time he did that I would think he was a bit of a fool. I mean who gives away their hard earned money or food to people who are scamming others. And there are some scammers but not all.
So I turned on my beat up Chevy and smoke flies out of the muffler and I drive up to the corner where she is at, I ask her if she would like one of my burgers? She says shes that she is very hungry, I give her one of my whoppers and a dollar and she looks at me and says “thank you god bless you” and she smiles at me. My heart feels better I drive away. I eat my burger on my way back to work.
And I go along with the rest of my day. But I feel better now. I feel like I did a good thing. I don't have to look away in shame when homeless people beg for change or scraps. I cant help everyone in this country and this world. But I helped her.
The reason for this story goes out to Rumpke. You try to help me and others but you go about it in a way that only helps you. You are not helping me by putting me down, by using such language. If you want to help you help by leading us by example not by pushing us down a drain. If there is good in your hear you will do things the right way.
I think you should have been an army Sargent. You would have been great in basic training. Putting down people left and right and getting them do everything you said down to the T. but this is not the army and you are not a Sargent. You are just a guy who thinks you know better. But you cant even take care of yourself. You are a mess, why would I or anyone try to be like you? You should want to be more like me.
Be good, open your heart, and live life in a way that would make your family proud. Anything less and you make less out of them.
I am tired and I will take a few days off. I will have more to say next week.
