Cassandra, today was a hard day. Just another hard day in a long list of hard days. For some reason some people think that because I have a bit of an accent I am not United States born. And so they take that as me being beneath them in some way. A lot of white customers like to think they are better than me. But they cant seem to figure out how to put a screw and bolt in or pay their bills on time. Yea they are so much better than me. A lot of people think they are entitled to something. That god and this country owe them for being born white and born here.
Never be like that ok? I know you wont, you’re a good person. We should never take things for granted. We should be greatful for what we have. And be ready to move on to better things with ourselves and how we treat others. I have always been the type to treat others the way you want to be treated. Speak to others with respect and hope you get the same in return. That is the only way to live life. The only way to live.
But life is hard. It is always hard. You should know that by now. Nothing comes easy. And no one in this world will care about you or me if we first do not care about ourselves. We need to be strong. Never look down when someone speaks to us. Always look them in the eye. Never look away when they try to chastise you. Be defiant, be strong and never let anyone talk down to us. No one gets to talk down to me. I will not allow it. Take your stance, hold your ground and always be strong always.
Do not let our weaknesses define us, it is our weaknesses that make us who we are. They are there to remind us who we are and where we came from. Does not matter if your name is Emerson, Evan, Cassandra or Rumpke. We do not hide from our weaknesses, we look them straight in the face and say you will not beat me! You will not define me! I am stronger than you. And I will not break!
