There is a little girl sitting by herself trying to open a little carton of orange juice. She’s been at it for a few good minutes and to no avail. And as I watch her in this lobby I cant help but smile. Her mother hasn't paid much attention to her or anyone else, she seems quite interested in whatever she is reading on her phone. How the world has changed. 20 years ago everyone would sit across from each other at dinner and talk, share things, now entire families sit at the same table and don't say a word to each other.
This world is different, the people are different. And for a split second it made me long for Jeville. That lost city between hell and purgatory. Where there is no electricity, no cell phones, no computers or TVs. Its just life and survival. At its very core Jeville is simplicity at its best. You either live or you don't. You eat and breath or you don't. There is no picking or choosing one week you can eat onions and beets all week long, another week maybe you feat on wild boar or some nice fat rats.
And while I get out of Jeville, all others do not, it is easy for me to say get out, when I have always been granted a way out, those others do not get a way out. The air we breath is a toxic fume coming from the ashes that reside in hell. And we do not care, all we care about is surviving and having one night of rest, which never happens. We are hunted by the things in the darkness, things that make up nightmares and worse.
And through it all. I sit here in a damn lawyers office finding humor in a 4 year old trying to get to her little juice box. And all I can think is thank god for the little things.
Finally she manages to open her juice box and the world is right again, she smiles, not that her mother notices. But I do, she spots me and I raise my hands clapping at her. She smiles at me a prideful happy smile. Now I want some juice hahaha.
The secretary walks up to me and says that they are ready for me. I walk in and asked to take a seat.
“Mr. uh what should I call you, when this meeting was setup I wasn't given a name cept for your wrestler name.”
I sigh “You can call me John Juice.”
“Perfect. OK Mr…..Juice. I was told you want to open a life insurance policy.”
“That's right, I want some money next time I get reincarnated.”
“Uh………….I don't understand.”
“I want to get a policy and the only person who can inherit that money is whoever shows up here with a password, whoever gives you that password give him my money.”
“Sir that is highly unusual. Why not just name a beneficiary?”
“Cause I don't know who I will be next time I come back”.
“Sir I don't understand? This is highly unusual and we just don't do business like that.”
“Thank you for your time, I will find someone who can do what I ask.”
“Sir, if I may”
He writes a number and address on the back of a business card. And hands it to me.
“This is a friend of mine, and his small firm would welcome your business and mayhap accommodate your request.”
I say thank you and shake his hand and leave.
I will find this place tomorrow, for now I need to get to the grocery store and get some orange juice.
My mind has not been very focused. Emerson put on a hell of an effort and was a few seconds away from winning but he lost and now he’s in a match with me and Robert Saints. Robert Saints has had a strangle hold on the IC Title. He is one of the most formidable left in SFT. So suffice to say I cannot overlook him. I cannot take him for granted. It is win or go home time and I don't plan to going home anytime soon. I hope Robert is happy that he gets to go home and leave Mexico City right away. Ha
