OK its time to get to work.
I need to stretch out and get limber today is going to be a tough day. But a man has to do what a man has to do.
The scene pans out to Em standing in front of a large lawn with a lawn mower in front of him. It is already late in the day after 5pm. But living in Texas means yard work has to be done early in the morning or late in the afternoon, doing anything during normal hours will sun stroke you.
(Emerson turns on the lawn mower and starts cutting the grass. Instantly he is attacked by a barrage of mosquitoes. Emerson had earlier pretty much bathed in OFF and its barely keeping the mosquitoes off of him. It rained a few days ago and the rain and sun the next days has combined for quite the outdoor experience.)
My sister helps me out a lot, mostly taking care of my son after school. But shes been a rock for me. I think after her husband took off, she needed to be strong to prove something to herself. And boy did she ever. She works early mornings, I mean she is like the marines she does more by 10am than mostly people do all day, her shift ends by 2pm which is perfect because my son gets out of school at 3. Shes helped me out with some money when my car broke down. So when it comes to chores like these I like to do it for her. Yard work is man work, and that's for me.
The good thing is she doesn't have a large lawn, the backyard is mostly just patio area with one ugly tree, the front yard is small with another tree. When she and I were little our parents always had us working on the yards. I guess it was there way of trying to instill some sort of reprehensibility in us, And I guess it sort of worked. But as children we hated it. We just wanted to spend our summer days watching TV, eating and maybe going to the public pool down the street. Rarely did we get to do any of the three. But that's life, isn't it? Children for the most part back when I was growing up didn't get to do what they wanted. You are stuck doing whatever your mom says to do, if she wants to go grocery shopping there you go with her. If she wants to buy clothes, there you go with her. It seems at times adults do whatever they can do to avoid doing nothing. As if sitting on the sofa watching TV for a few hours is against the law or something. Haha
Anyway the point of all this is just that everyone has things they need to do either for themselves or for others. And yet we always seem to forget that we must shoulder the responsibilities that others demand of us. SFT for example is a place that only lives by our wills. We make it live and breath and when we fail, we fail it, and we fail ourselves. When we rise to the occasion we make it great.
This lawn I am working on looks awful, but I will mow. I will water and take care of this lawn and with a little sun and a little luck this may look good once again. Same goes for SFT. And if I have to mow down 10 other wrestlers in order to get the world title and make SFT live again, make it great again, then that is exactly what I plan to do.
And FYI, I plan to put on a cape and do a Shane helms impersonation, maybe call myself the Orange Tornado? Haha. I like the color orange, but mostly I just like eating oranges, maybe next time I will tell you all how I prepare them. Heck I might even bring some oranges for the guys, after I beat them up of course, it'll be my peace offering.
OK that's it for today.
