We see Jack at his ranch near Oklahoma City. He is finishing up the day, its been raining on and off throughout the day. He’s decided to call it a day early and get inside.
“Thought I could put up with a little rain but its getting worse and worse and I better get in before I get hit with a bolt of lightning. Last thing I need is to be walking around with gray hair and shooting bits of lighting from my fingertips hahaha”.
Jack takes a drink of water and gets inside. As he steps inside we hear a small transistor radio belting out old Hank Williams songs. The music brings a smile to his face. He goes to the kitchen and finds a still warm pot with some lamb stew. He serves himself a nice big bowl and pours himself some lemonade from the fridge.
He finds a half bottle of Tabasco sauce on the kitchen table and pours some into his bowl as well as a few pinches of black pepper he mixes it, first taking a nice bite from the potatoes and carrots in the stew before he starts to inhale his food.
“I don't really like eating stew or soups in the summertime, its too hot to eat really hot foods. But on days like today we like to make exceptions. The more I think to the past the more I think to the now. There were so many people I used to look up to, but they have either passed on or moved on. That's how life works I guess. But while I cant mourn aholes who disrespected people still here. I can mourn for all the names and faces that were true.”
“And I guess now I should speak about my upcoming world title match. I am facing the world champion Louis Cypher. At first I thought you were a bigger joke than Jamo. But as you held on to the title more and more and weren't shying away from anyone, I started to get a little bit of respect for you. Mind you not much but a little. I respect your talent, if not what you say and how you say it.”
Jack takes a deep breath.
“You keep talking about how evil this and evil that. But all I really see is a weak man. And Cypher take this the right way. You are weak and pathetic. You abandoned your family for what? To seek out proof that evil exists, that demons and devils and what not are real. Really? Your son and daughter and wife weren't worth as much as a damned soul in hell? Really? Are you an idiot or what? You gave up so much and got what in return? Answer me that and I might change my mind. But at the end of the day I don't think even you know what you traded everything away for. Because the reality is, you have no clue what life, heaven and hell really is.”
Jack finishes his meal between rants, takes a big drink from his lemonade and pushes the dishes away.
“You took the easy way out. You weren't really supposed to be a dad or a hubby. All you could do is try to find a way out, and so you made it seem that what you did was for their own good. When in reality it was for your own good. You made a mess of your life. And yeah you probably did right in not messing up your families life, but that still don't let ya off da hook.”
Jack smiles at the camera.
“And for all your talk about demons and hell. Guess what Sherlock? You are going right ta hell with them. And then you can spend the rest of eternity asking them questions, see if they treat you the way you think you’ll get treated? Haha. Trust me Cypher, where you are going, ain't nothing gonna be strange and wonderful. Just gonna be hell.”
