Hi everyone,
Some of you no doubt know me, most of you maybe not. I’m Glenn.
SFT has been a part of my life since the year 2000. So recently after some discussions with Reno and Joey I’ve agreed to take on a fairly long term project of turning this forum into our official home going forward. What on earth does that mean you ask?
Well in the old days, a message forum was just that, a message forum. You signed up, posted text and people replied and that was all it did. Needless to say technology has moved on somewhat in the past 17 years, and whilst Proboards does has many flaws, as a free platform it offers un-matched flexibility when it comes to creating a space on the internet. I have much experience with Proboards, I set up my first Proboards website in 2005 so I have a great deal of experience.
My aim is to use this platform to create a permanent and long term home for SFT, and once I get going and you see the site transform over time, I think you’ll begin to get a good understanding of what I mean. For now though I just wanted to let you all know this is what I’ll e doing, so expect the site to go through some changes over the next few months…. But I’ll be updated everyone as I go along.
My long term aim is for SFT to have a fantastic home, with many features and all the fun and games of a full blown website, but here in a stable platform that requires minimal editing and programming knowledge. It's ironic that SFW as it was started out as a simple Forum back in 1998..... talk about coming full circle!
Thanks everyone. Look for another pinned post in a few minutes where I'll provide a constant update log of all changes etc, and some important guidance of switching themes.
